Aeroplanes; planes and the like, construction of; planes and the like, arrangement and disposition of; steering, balancing, and regulating altitude.-Relates to aeroplanes of the kind described in the parent Specification in which the wings and 'fuselage of an aeroplane are constructed to form a continuous contour, the wings being forwardly directed and presenting an increasing incidence towards their tips. According to the present invention the incidence of the wings is varied for control purposes either by warping or by the use of ailerons. The ailerons may be situated at the ends of the wings, as shown in Fig. 1, or near the fuselage, as shown in Fig. 2, or a combination of ailerons in both of these positions may be used. The ailerons may be adjustable simultaneously in the same or opposite directions. To increase the flying angle of the machine when two pairs of ailerons are used, the outer ailerons are lowered and the inner ailerons simultaneously raised.
