Abstract

202,150. Saintin, F. July 25, 1922. Spray carburettors. - In a starting-device in which compressed air from a reservoir passes through a carburettor provided with a vertical nozzle 9 connected to a closed receptacle 7 in which the fuel level is below the nozzle outlet, the fuel in the receptacle being subject to the static pressure of the compressed air below the nozzle, the axis of the nozzle is arranged parallel to the current of compressed air to be carburetted. The upper part of the receptacle 7 is connected by a passage 12<1> to the space around the nozzle, or by a pipe to the compressed-air supply pipe. A fixed or adjustable diffusing-device 11 surrounds the nozzle.
