Air, moistening.- Apparatus for moistening air supplied to the intake pipe or explosion chamber of internal - combustion engines, comprises a glass container a for the liquid, an air inlet tube f depending therein, a funnel e for the inlet end of the tube, a float g at the lower end of the tube, an outlet valve m controlled by a valve n, a non- return valve s and a nozzle o leading to the engine. The float g is guided by a wire in the tube f. The float and non-return valve prevent water from being forced out of the tube f in the event of back pressure from the engine. The apparatus is secured to a base b. In a modification, the funnel is closed at the top and provided with holes in its side, and the base b is replaced by an upright support.
