Abstract

258,470. Fornaca, G. Jan. 25, 1926. Spray carburettors. -The normal and slow speed nozzles are formed in a unit which is independent of the other members of the carburettor and easily inserted in and removed from the floa t chamber to facilitate inspection and cleaning. A flange 1 of the carburettor body which forms a cover for the float chamber 2 has a conical seating 4 to receive the conical head of a .tubular member 5 in which the parallel main and slow running conduits 8, 7 are formed. The head is provided with a flange 6 adapted to be secured by studs passing through the flange. The con- .duit 7 carries at its lower end the slow-running nozzle 9 and communicates with the container 2 through aperture 11 and, through apertures 12, with the conduit 8 carrying the normal nozzle 10. A tube 13 depending into the conduit 7 communicates through holes 15 with a passage 14 leading to the carburettor, and the chamber 8 communicates with the carburettor suction passage through a conduit 15<a>. The invention is described in its application to a double carburettor in which two of the units 5 dip into the fuel in the container 2, but in the case of a single carburettor only one unit would be employed.
