Abstract
201,848. Babcock & Wilcox, Ltd., (Deutsche Babcock-&-Wilcox Dampfkessel- Werke Akt.-Ges.). Dec. 28, 1922. Hot-water storage apparatus.-Relates to a boiler plant fitted with a storage tank so connected to the boiler that boiler water passes into the tank when the steam demand is low, and hot water passes from the tank into the boiler when the steam demand is high, the normal feed being then stopped, as described in Specification 192,685. According to the invention, to prevent overheating in the economizer 2 when the feed is stopped, the feed from the economizer is delivered into a second storage tank 3. A pump 4 forces the water from the tank into the boiler. The economizer may deliver directly into the boiler during normal working, and be connected to the tank only when the boiler supply is stopped.
