Abstract

200,258. Midland Pressing & Piercing Co., Ltd., and Fisher, C. April 27, 1922. Latches, sliding.-Relates to sash fasteners of the type in which a spring-shot latch-bolt sliding in a bracket on one sash automatically engages under a hook bracket on the other sash when the window is closed, and consists in forming both brackets and the bolt from sheet-metal by simple stamping and pressing operations. The bolt bracket a is formed by bending up the slotted arms a<3> of a blank a<1>. Fig. 4, to form front and rear bearing lugs a<4>, a<5>, the hook bracket f being formed by suitably bending the blank f<1>, Fig. 6. The sheet-metal flat latch-bolt d, sliding in the slots in the lugs a<4>, a<5>, has a pin d<5> between which and the lug a<4> is arranged a preferably flattened spiral spring e. A sheet-metal cover i encloses the bolt d and spring e, the cover being secured in position by the bracket attachment screws b.
