Abstract

Specially-shaped boxes made from special blanks. -A folding box formed from a single blank and having closed ends formed by overlapping interlocking projections has the end flaps or projections g, Fig. 1, on the part a destined to form the back of the box when folded, formed with slightly curved outer edges extending from one edge of the back to the other so that the box when made up will have a slightly curved front b, a flat back a and closed ends, Fig. 2. The portion b has tongues k engaging slits h in the flaps g and reinforcing tongues or projections n may be provided which when folded over the flaps g and engaged in slits strengthen the closure at the junction of the folds, X, X and Y, Y and point towards the middle of the folded ends: additional projections o on the part b also fold under the flaps g. Several forms of blank having modified projections and tongues are described, the projections in some cases standing out above the box to serve as price tickets. To give additional security a strip of paper may be fastaned across the back of the box, the projecting ends thereof forming handles or a device for attaching the box to a support; such projections may be formed by cut-out portions of the blank.
