Abstract

196,914. National Seal Co., Inc., (Assignees of Lee, N.). April 26, 1922, [Convention date]. Cap-sto,ppers, bayonet-joint.-In a closure for glass or like containers, and comprising a cap 16 with a depending skirt 17 formed with inturned lips 18 adapted to engage lugs 12 placed at equal distances around the vessel mouth, the rear of each lip 18 is bent to form an inclined face 21 strengthened by a bent part 22 and operating to stop the rotation of the cap and to draw it downwards on to the vessel to form an air-tight joint. The leading edge of each lip 18 is of rectangular formation, and is bent downwards to engage the rounded end 13 of the corresponding lug 12. Specification 147,511 is referred to.
