Abstract

404,496. Closures for jars &c. CASCELLOID, Ltd., and PALLETT, A. E., Abbey Lane, Leicester. March 16, 1933, No. 7982. Addition to 341,136. [Class 125 (iii).] A closure for jars &c. comprises a disc of card board &c. adapted to fit over the opening of the jar and an annular retaining member of celluloid or equivalent resilient material having one edge provided with an inwardly extending flange which engages the circumferential edge portion of the disc while its other edge is formed with an internal circumferential bead adapted to snap over the jar mouth ridge. As shown the resiliency of the bead is increased by leaving a gap between the edge of the bead and the inside of the skirt of the annular member.
