Abstract
513,799. Bottle closures. TENNANT, W. J. (Baxter Laboratories, Inc.). April 20, 1938, No. 11888. [Class 125 (iii)] A closure for a bottle or like container of the kind described in Specification 454,501 comprises a rubber plug stopper 14, Fig. 1, having openings 15, 16 extending therethrough a flexible and removable sealing disc 20 extending over the plug 14, and a clamping ring 21 embracing the neck 12 of the container 11 and engaging under a bead 13 or like protuberance thereon. An inturned annular flange 22 on the ring 21 extends over the disc 20 but is cut away at 23, Fig. 5, to give access to the edge of the disc. A metal sealing disc 24 is provided over the sealing disc 20 and the flange 22, and an outer detachable annular sealing cap 25 having a tearing flap 27 and notched at 30 to facilitate opening.
