Abstract

205,009. Evans, R. R. Feb. 7, 1923. Lever lids.-In a metal or other container free from internal projections and having at its mouth an outwardly - rounded bead, the lower portion 3 of the bead 2 is inwardly curved and the lip of the closure is inwardly inclined, as at 6, and terminates in an outwardlyrounded and inwardly-inclined, curved portion 7, 8 to exert an impinging action against the outer portion of the bead 2 and the inner wall of the container 1, a gasket 9 being provided in the lip. The lip of the closure is extended at intervals to form spring fingers 9<1> for facilitating removal of the closure.
