Abstract
Partially, wholly, and multiple basic salts of tetrazol and derivatives thereof such as tetrazylazoimide, diazotetrazol, azotetrazol, oxyazotetrazol, diazoaminotetrazol, bistetrazol, and dioxytetrazol, are used singly or mixed together or with other ingredients in primers, detonators, detonating cords, and the like. These basic salts are obtained by precipitation. For example, a mixed or double salt of basic lead azotetrazolate and basic lead picrate is formed by combining a solution of sodium azotetrazolate containing sodium hydroxide with a solution of sodium picrate containing sodium hydroxide, and allowing this combined solution to flow into a hot solution of a lead salt such as lead acetate which is constantly stirred the while.
