Abstract

Lead trinitrophloroglucinate for use in primers and like ammunition is precipitated by allowing hot solutions of readily soluble salts of trinitrophloroglucinol and soluble lead salts to run together. One or two other substances may be precipitated simutaneously therewith, for example a mixture of solutions of sodium trinitrophloroglucinate, sodium azide, and the sodium salt of dinitrodinitrosobenzene may be run into a mixture of a solution of lead acetate and potassium acetate.
