Abstract

Tetrazenes such as guanyldiazoguanyltetrazene, guanyltetrazyltetrazene, diazotetrazolbenzalaminoguanidine, and diazotetrazolphenylhydrazine are prepared for use in explosive priming compositions in single or mixed or double salts. For example, guanyldiazoguanyltetrazene is prepared by the action of sodium nitrite on amidoguanidine nitrate. Guanyltetrazyltetrazene is prepared from soluble diazotetrazol salts and amidoguanidine in acetate solution. A double salt of guanyldiazoguanyltetrazene and guanyltetrazyltetrazene is also prepared in the presence of sodium acetate.
