Oxygen, supplying for combustion.-Oxygen is employed in combination with air or combustible gases in the heating of smelting furnaces or the like, and the thermal energy in the waste gases is utilized, immediately on leaving the furnace without passing through a regenerator or recuperator, for the production of energy, for example in the production of the oxygen employed.
