Abstract

192,556. Stapleton, H. W. Dec. 14, 1921. Couplings for road vehicles. - In a tractor coupling of the kind in which the point of connection between tractor and trailer or implement is adjustable, the connection to one vehicle 4 is slidably mounted in a slot in a member carried by the other and is engaged directly by the operating lever. A casing having a straight slot 2 and a curved slot 4 is carried from the tractor by a member 3 which may be adjusted in position in the straight slot 2 and is then screwed by bolts 6. The draft pin of the trailer or implement encases in the curved slot 4 and in the slot 19 in the end of the operating lever 14 carrying a spring detent which engages one of the notches in the sector 18.
