Abstract
301,388. Dumond, J. Nov. 28, 1927, [Convention date]. Couplings for tractors. - A hollow arm 2 on one vehicle terminates in a hemispherical socket 3; the other half 5 of the socket is pivoted at 6, to the arm, and has an opening 4 for the entry of a ball 1 at the end of an arm a mounted on the other vehicle. The part 5 is kept in engagement with the ball by a spring 9 and cam 8, and may be locked in that position by means of a handle fast on the spindle 10. In an alternative arrangement, the arm a points downward while the socket faces upward and is provided with a ramp.
