Abstract
714,200. Central buffer - couplings. HUDSON Ltd., R. May 15, 1953 [April 3, 1952], No. 8580/52. Class 103(5) A central buffer coupling comprises a substantially U-shaped buffer head 1 which accommodates hook 7 pivoted on the crosspin 9 and which has buffing surfaces 5, 6 extending beyond the outer end of the hook. To couple two trucks when the buffing surfaces are in contact the hook 7 and its associated link 33 are pivoted upwardly thereby allowing the link to be engaged with the other hook. The buffer head 1 is centralized by spring means which acts on the plate 26 through the pivot pin 14 and the drawbar 10.
