Water-tube boilers. -In a water-tube boiler with front and rear headers which are so connected that the water circulates in two or more separate paths, an upper drum arranged with its axis parallel to the plane of the headers is provided in each path. The middle front headers 3, Figs. 1 and 2, are connected to a drum 5 by tubes 4, and the outer front headers 6, 7 to drums 10, 11 by tubes 8, 9, return tubes 24 connecting the drums to the corresponding rear headers. The drums are interconnected by tubes 13. The outer group of generating tubes 8<1>, 9<1>, Fig. 3, opening into headers connected to a drum 10 are arranged in flue spaces divided off from the combination chamber by walls 16. The drum 10 is fitted with a partition which directs the feed through the outer groups of tubes before entering the middle group. The generating tubes may be inclined to the vertical instead of to the horizontal as shown.
