Lifting-dogs.-Relates to lifting-dogs for raising projectiles and other cylindrical objects with their axes disposed vertically, and of the kind in which an annular member 1 embracing the object 5 carries a number of pivoted jaws 4, which are each connected to the lifting- cables 6 so that eccentric surfaces on the jaws grip the object when the cables are pulled upwards by the lifting-means. The ring 1 is connected to a beam 8 provided with an eye 9, which is engaged by a hook 10 when it is desired to lift the grab clear of the shell without bringing the jaws into operation.
