Transmission gear between separate axles; spring drives and resilient couplings. - In a railway locomotive which has each driving-axle connected to the motor by flexible or articulated shafts and toothed gearing, and a flexible connexion between the driving-shaft and the driven axle, the flexible connexion comprises a gearwheel 7 loose on the axle 6, a driving-member 15 fixed to the axle, and a resilient member 14 connecting the gear-wheel and the fixed member. A brake is fitted upon the driving-shaft.
