Abstract

114,417. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. March 29, 1917, [Convention date]. Addition to 112,009, [Class 80 (iii), Link-work, &c.]. Gearing with provision for permitting flexure or distortion.-The driving shaft and axle of an electric locomotive are connected on each side of the vehicle by couplings of the kind described in the parent Specification, the coupling at one side being at an angle with that on the other to minimize vibration. The coupling comprises a pair of links mounted on crank-pins 1 on the rail wheels t and connected to links on crank-pins 2 on the driving gear wheels z, the latter links being provided with inter-engaging toothed sectors 3. The gear wheels z are driven from the motor through pinions r fitted with spring driving devices.
