Universal couplings. - A rotary coupling adapted to allow angular or parallel disalignment of two shafts, such as the road wheel shaft and stub axle carrying the transmission gear of an electric locomotive, comprises links 2 pivoted to pins 1 on the road wheel or driven member 10 and to levers 7 carried on pins 3 on the driving gear 11, the adjacent ends of the levers 3 being mutually connected by links 8 pivoted to a block 4 slidable in a guideway 5 and may embody spring means to render the drive elastic.
