Tread bands; tyre attachments to rims.- Skid-preventing devices, comprising chains encircling the tyre or plates 20, Fig. 3, with suitable road-engaging, surfaces 23 held by lengths of chain 21, 22, are secured by engaging the hook 17 on one side with an eye 7, Fig. 2, in an offset lug 6 on a yoke 5 embracing a spoke and bearing on the underside of the felloe, and by engaging a link 18 on the other side with a hook 8 provided with a head 9 through which pass the arms of the yoke.
