Abstract

19,448. Wilson, W. G. Sept. 4. Tread bands ; tyre attachments to rims.- A detachable device for use on heavy vehicles comprises a series of spaced metal plates k, presenting an extended Hat tread, the plates having projections engaging a trough &c. b at the side of the wheel. The plates are threaded on a chain &c. which may be hooked up into endless form and to the trough b in various ways, for example as shown in Fig, 2. Fig. 8 shows a modified securing-means comprising screw shackles 9 and a yoke 10 engaging behind a spoke.
