Abstract

293,638. Wittkopp, E. E. Dec. 14, 1927. Block tyres.-A tyre comprises a series of rubber blocks 22 of helical form having dovetail base portions engaging dovetail recesses between helical ribs 19 on the wheel rim 16. The blocks are clamped between a fixed rim-flange 18 and a detachable flange 32 through which bolts 34 are passed into threaded holes in the ribs 19. The base portions of the blocks may abut, or overlap around the wheel.
