Tread bands; tyre attachments to rims.- Relates to the attachment of chain-mail protectors of ordinary form: A stranded wire cord is threaded through the links at each side of the protector and is-drawn tight after the tyre is inflated. This cord is also threaded through a number of wire links C, Figs. 2 and 4. According to the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, a metal ring is threaded through the links C and drawn tight by a screw. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 5 and 9, in the case of a wheel with wooden felloes, the links C are threaded on hooks D, which pass through metal brackets E and are drawn tight by nuts.
