Tread bands, projections, and surfaces; tyre attachments to rims.-Non-skid devices comprise two end members 15 with sharp edges adapted to straddle the tyre and connected together in ,spaced relation by two bars 16 with projections 18 adapted to seat on opposite sides of the tyre. The devices are secured by rods 23 pivotally attached to the end members and passed through lugs 28 on blocks 19 which are clamped round the rim and spokes of the wheel. Cushioning- springs 29 surround the rods and abut on the heads of the rods and on the lugs.
