Abstract
569,992. Wheel tyres. WHITE, DEVIZES, Ltd., T. H., and WITCHELL, T. J. Oct. 21, 1943, No. 17351. [Class 144 (i)] A temporary wheel tyre for agricultural machines consists of a number of segments seated on and secured to the wheel rim and provided with suitable treads or grips, each segment being clamped to the rim by cams formed with handles and pivoted to the segment. Each segment consists of a pair of spaced curved bands Al secured together by bars B and carrying the treads C, the ends of the bands being staggered. Each segment has a a number of brackets D, E which receive a spring bridge H passing through the spokes. Each bridge comprises three leaves J of spring steel secured in a strap K with adjusting screw L. The brackets D carry pivoted levers G with cams F which compress the adjacent end of the bridge H to clamp the segments against the wheel rim. The handles G protrude inside the wheel.
