Abstract

Vaporizers, external.-A vaporizer or carburettor using paraffin or like fuel comprises an approximately spherical enlargement 2 in the exhaust passage and concentric passages 4, 6 for the vapour and air supply respectively. Fuel is admitted by a nozzle 8 from the float chamber 9 and mixes in the small chamber 29 with primary air drawn in by way of the space 27 and the lower part of the passage 6. Supplementary air can be admitted directly from the atmosphere or from the passage 6 by bringing openings 25, Fig. 4, in the rotary sleeve 17 into register either with apertures 23, and certain of apertures 24, formed in the cylindrical extensions 15, 16 of the spherical passage walls, or with others of the apertures 24 and apertures 26 in the flange 32.
