Stowing boats; boat-launching apparatus.-Relates to means for stowing and launching boats, of the kind in which the boats are stowed in compartments in the side of a ship where they will be readily accessible from the lower decks. A number of compartments A are provided with inner and outer water-tight doors C, C' arranged so that only one may be open at a time. Within the compartments A are stowed a number of boats on slips or runways ready to be launched by electricallyoperated means. In addition, a number of rafts G are also stowed in the compartments A. The launching-means may be operated from the bridge, and the doors connected mechanically or electrically to ensure that only one in each compartment is open.
