Abstract
527,599. Ships carrying other craft. BADOVICI, J. April 17, 1939, No. 11563. Convention date, Feb. 18. [Class 113 (ii)] The hull of a battle cruiser is constructed at its stern to form a dock 4 which can be placed in communication with the sea and which is limited at its bottom by an immersed hold deck 5 and at its sides by inner walls 6 lining the starboard and port walls of the cruiser, and there is provided housing space for motor torpedo boats 2 adjacent the dock in between decks, a pivoted chute 12 for launching the boats into the dock, and elevators 8 forming intercommunication between such decks. The shoot 12 may be replaced by a transverse endless conveyer, and may be associated with a transverse track or a turntable. The dock 4 may be closed by a door 7.
