Abstract
559,088. Lifeboats. FLEMING, I. R., and FLEMING, F. E. Aug. 1, 1942, No. 10803. [Class 113 (ii)] In a lifeboat, portable duckboards 15 are supported in the plane of the seats 12, 14 so as to extend the seats and deck-over substantially the whole or a part of the boat. The deck-boards may be hinged at 16, Fig. 3, they may have positioning battens 19 and be stowed under the thwarts 11 against bulkheads 18, Fig. 5, or they may have guide blocks 20 and be slid from over or under the seats, as shown in Fig. 7. The central space 24 and the ends of the boat also may be covered in by portable deck-boards. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 517,147.
