Abstract
557,832. Boat covers. PATON, W. H. Sept. 14, 1942, No. 12958. [Class 113 (i)] A boat cover comprises a central fore-and-aft supporting member A to the sides of which are hinged curved longitudinal roof sections which are divided longitudinally into leaves so that the outer leaves El, F<SP>1</SP> can fold up within the inner leaves E, F, means being provided for tightening the peripheries of the outer leaves against the gunwale H. The tightening means may include drop links J on the outer leaves to engage with pivoted locking devices M on the gunwale. The outer leaves may also carry hinged rod Q engageable in securing means on the gunwale whereby the cover may be secured in a raised position to act only as an awning. The cover may be made of thin sheet steel and the supporting member A may be protected by a curved plate U. Below the gunwale there may be fitted rowlocks W as described in Specification 551,203.
