Abstract

6966. Bathurst, A. A. March 19. Actuating; lift valves.-A screw-down needle valve for regulating the flow of lubricating-oil in an internal-combustion engine is controlled by connexions with the throttle valve of the engine. The valve stem G carries a disk or lever H, to which is secured a Bowden wire M connected at the other end of the throttle valve. The sheath L of the wire M abuts against the wall of a casing K. The pin N securing the wire M engages a slot, or one of a number of holes, for adjustment. A spring engaging the disk or lever H opposes the pull of the wire.
