Abstract

13,662. Dicker, S. G. S., [Stromberg Motor Devices Co.]. Aug. 6, 1912. Spray carburettors. - The several jet - tubes 15, 16, 17 are successively brought into action, and the auxiliary air port 18 is opened, by a throttle valve 13 having a rectangular opening at its lower side which changes to a pear-shaped exit at its upper side. The auxiliary air is further controlled by an automatic valve 44 sliding within a pipe 41, in which are one or more triangular perforations 47, and outside of which is a sleeve 46<1> having corresponding perforations and an adjusting-handle 49. The airinlet 40, on which the valve 44 seats, and the pipe 41 secured thereto can be screwed more or less into the casing 14 to vary the tension of the spring 45, and are held in such adjusted position by a spring-pressed pin 54. The fuelnozzles consist of steel tubes 25 screwed into the body of the carburettor and into which brass bushes 27 are fixed. The holes through which the tubes 25 have been passed are closed by plugs 29 carrying needle valves 30. The float is spherical and is embraced by a ring- shaped lever.
