Abstract

14,988. Ferguson, H. Feb. 5. Spray carburettors.-The additional fuel supply of a carburettor is controlled simultaneously with and at predetermined positions of the throttle valve and may be adjusted independently by hand. The invention is shown applied to the type of carburettor described in Specification 7736/07, wherein the additional fuel is controlled by a valve at q forming the extremity of a Bowden wire q<1>, which is adjusted from the handle - bar and passes through a fixed casing q<2>. A sleeve w slides over this casing and has a projection w<1>, which is pressed against a cam x<1> on the throttlevalve spindle by a spring x<4>. Inside the sleeve and attached to the wire q<1> is a disk w<2>, between which and the top of the sleeve w a spring x<3> is interposed. The cam-swell x<2> is so situated that the auxiliary fuel supply is fully opened at nearly closed and at full open positions of the throttle. Specification 28,600/13 is referred to.
