5852. Veeder, C. H. March 21, 1913, [Convention date]. Odometers.-In odometers mounted in the wheel hub, the axle a is slotted at a<1> to engage pins e<1> carried by a plate e. Lateral flanges e<3> on the plate are provided with holes e' in which engage projections f<1> of plates f supported by the ends of a plate g engaging slots in the flanged ends f<2>. Secured to the plate g is a wheel h which is mounted co-axially with the axle a and carries loosely on its hub a plate i adapted to be secured between the cap d and the adapter c. The odometer d' is driven from the wheel h through spur gearing, and the plate e is pressed into engagement with the axle by a spring j. To prevent excessive movement of the pins e<1> along the slot a<1>, there is provided a split pin k which passes across the slot.
