Abstract
7588. Cosset, C. M. March 31, 1911, [Convention date]. Detachable-rim, attachments to wheels.-A shaft 13, Figs. A, C, is mounted in bearings on the felloe and carries two eccentric blocks 14, 15, which bear against plates 18, 19 on the detachable rim 11 and felloe respectively, and an eccentric rib 20 engaging a recess in the plate 18 to prevent lateral displacement of the rim. The shaft carries a ratchet-wheel 22 and may be locked by a pivoted pawl or by a pawl 23 secured to the felloe by a set-screw 24 against the action of a spring 26, which, on unscrewing the screw, automatically lifts the pawl from engagement with the wheel 22, a pin 28 acting as a guide. Stops 30 engage the pawl when the shaft is in positions for releasing and securing the rim. The securing-means may be adapted for two or more rims side by side.
