5590. Girardot, L. Sept. 3, 1910, [Convention date]. Locking nuts.-A nut h, Fig. 1, for securing a detachable wheel, is locked by a bar n, which may be used to rotate the nut and is pivoted at m and engages a diametrical groove in a cap l screwing into the permanent hub with a t h r e a d of different pitch from that of the nut. The bar is held down by the spring- pressed pins q, Fig. 2, carried thereby and engaging a hole in a boss p on the nut. Projections on the bar may fit into holes in the cap, and other suitable means may be used for holding the bar in its locking position.
