Additional-charge registers ; flag and setting- spindle mechanism; minimum-fare, devices for registering; mixed time and distance drive; mounting - details; multiple - tariff; resetting - mechanism, arrangement of; with fare and distance totalizers. - The escapement device, the fare indicating totalizer, and the mixed time-anddistance drive device are arranged on readily detachable plates or housings. The escapement 3, the mixed time-and-distance drive member 11, the mounting 7 for the trips, fare, and " Extras " counters 8, 9, 10, and the fare-indicating mechanism can all be removed from the instrument as units. Total counters 4, 5 are provided for the mileage at each tariff rate, a counter 6 effecting a total of both these mileage readings. A shutter covers the fare discs when the flag is in the " free " position. The flag also controls the clutch mechanism for the vehicle-drive, selects the counters 4, 5 according to the tariff-rate in operation, frees the " Extras " mechanism, releases the clock mechanism, and zeroizes the fare discs. Spaced plates carry the clockwork and indicator &c. mechanism and are mounted on a further plate carrying the flag-spindle mechanism and secured to the casing.
