Abstract

1483. Hikeley, J. Jan. 29. Counters with recording - apparatus. - A counter carrying type-wheels is geared up to the driving-spindle of a watt-hour meter, and hammers are operated periodically by a clockcontrolled electro-magnet to give a record upon a strip. The counter-wheels are driven through a weighted-arm snap-action from the spindle 8 in gear with the register 6 of the meter, and are provided with locking-detents 34, which are held down while the record is effected. The record-strip 13 and ink ribbon are wound up by a pawl 31 operated by a three-armed lever 27 from the electro-magnet 21, and the record is made by loose plungers 24 engaged by the magnet.
