Abstract
24,460. Cox, K. Oct. 28. Cylinders, pipes for.-Where the air and gas are kept separate until they reach the cylinder, an adjustable inlet is arranged on the gas-pipe bv which air is admitted to reduce the calorific value of the gas and to increase its volume, so that the pressure remains the same as that in the air-pipe when gas richer than that'for which the engine is designed is being used. The gas and air pipes may be connected by a balancing-passage as described in Specification 7475/13.
