Cylinders, tapping contents of.-Gaseous fuel for lighting &c. is taken from the cylinders of an engine through long pipes a of small diameter, non- return valves f, a highpressure reservoir e and a throttle valve leading to a low-pressure reservoir. The parts are so dimensioned that, at the end of the explosion stroke, sufficient combustible mixture remains in each pipe a to expand to the full volume of the pipes on the suction stoke. The gases thus selected may be passed through petrol, benzol, &c. before use. Specification 26,161/12 is referred to.
