Abstract
26,161. Constantinescu, G. Nov. 14. Cylinders, tapping contents of.-Gaseous fuel for lighting, heating, &c. is taken from the cylinders of an engine through valves f, g, h which are opened during the compression strokes in the several cylinders by the explosion pressure in other cylinders. The engine cylinders are connected with the ends of the valve chambers, and when an explosion occurs, say in the cylinder connected with the chamber above the valve f, that valve is depressed and the cylinder in which compression is taking place is connected with a fuel reservoir through passages s, m, t, w. Another valve arrangement with two double-acting valves serving four cylinders is described. The gases thus collected may be passed through petrol, benzol, naphthalene, &c. before use.
