Abstract

129,522. Cameron, W. Sept. 23, 1918. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A chamber B in uninterrupted communication with the cylinder A is supplied during the suction stroke of a fourstroke-cycle engine with a mixture of air and volatile hydrocarbon through the valve D. At the end of the compression stroke, heavy oil is injected into the air in the cylinder, and the light charge being ignited by a sparking-plug K in turn ignites the charge in the cylinder. The invention is also applicable to two-stroke-cycle engines.
