Abstract
104,660. Kelly, T. D. Dec. 12. 1916. Two- and four-stroke-cycle engines.-The engine described in Specification 23562/13 is modified by providing the annular pump space with an inlet pipe which is independent of that leading to the space above the outer piston. The inlet pipe may open into the annular pump space through a valve or through a port uncovered by the piston. Air and combustible mixture may be compressed separately in the two pumps, the air entering the working space slightly in advance of the mixture. The annular pump may discharge through the communicating-pipe between the pump spaces, or through a separate pipe.
