18,646. Anderson, J. W., and Slater, N. Aug. 16. Reversing-gearing. - In reversing-gearing, a belt-pulley 2 drives a shaft 1 forward through a cone clutch 6 on a sleeve 3 secured to the shaft. A gear-wheel 10, secured to the shaft, gears with planet pinions 14, carried by slidable but non-rotatable spiders 11 and gearing also with teeth 15 on a cone clutch 16. For reverse, the spiders 11, the planet pinions 14, and the clutch 16 are moved axially by a cone 24 and pivoted cam-levers 22, so that the clutch engages the pulley 2.
