Actuating by pulsating fluid pressure.-Apparatus of the type in which a pneumatically actuated differential fuel pump is used to inject fuel into the cylinder of an internal-combustion engine, has the air-timing valve in the form of a plunger worked by the engine. The compressed air, which may be obtained from the engine cylinder or independently, is admitted by the valve t to the cylinder m. The piston l, connected to the plunger a of the fuelpump, is moved against the pressure of the spring h which returns the moving parts to their initial positions. The cylinder is provided with a regulating-screw o for regulating the amount of fuel delivered at each stroke, and with water jackets m<1>, n<1>. When the cylinder air is used the piston valve t remains open until the exhaust stroke, but otherwise an escape valve is necessary.
