Abstract
24,139. Bates, W. J., and Hall, H. R. Oct. 31. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In engines in which the fuel is injected under pressure at the end of the compression stroke, the fuel nozzle has a needle valve g having a stem h of larger diameter which extends through a stuffing-box, the end h<1> being visible. The lift of the valve, which opens by the pressure of the fuel, can be regulated by the stop j. The nozzle may be water-cooled by the jacket q.
